My Story…
Hello everyone, My name is Elizabeth McKenna and I am a Cancer Survivor. 2022 was a very challenging year. In December 2021, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer which metastasized to my liver. My initial reaction to this news was emotional. I thought OMG, how bad is it but then I said, I have no control over this situation so I have to have faith that I will be in good hands with my medical team. My journey involved six rounds of chemotherapy pre-surgeries; three surgeries - one to grow more healthy liver tissue pre-liver surgery; the second was my liver surgery; and the third was my bowel surgery; followed by six more rounds of chemotherapy. My journey was approximately 14 months long with a few minor hiccups. Fourteen months is a long time but if the result is hearing; “You are a Cancer Survivor”, I will not complain. With so much support, love and prayers from family and friends I was able to stay positive. Thanks to my medical team, “Yes, I’m a Survivor!!!!!!
