The Tripleshot CrossFondo welcomes you back for its eighth-annual event on Sunday October 15, 2023!!!! Victoria's first mass participation off-road cycling event, appropriate for cyclocross, gravel or mountain bikes, winds through trails, over hills, roots and rocks, and churns through mud, creeks and deep puddles. There are a few hike-a-bike sections to keep it legit and 60+ property owners are opening up access to their land for event day. Always some surprises! Oreo hand ups, huck the old truck, watch for wayward chickens and sheep.....and then there's the bacon.....
It's a fund raiser for the Tripleshot Cycling Club Youth Program and a portion of the funds raised will support the development and maintenance of our region's amazing trail systems. So far you have helped us donate $17,000 to the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society and South Island Mountain Bike Society.
Wave starts based on your predicted average speed for this event; long course is 45km and short course is 25 km. (as always, distances are approximate and depend on the twists and turns each year surprises us with). Course planning takes months of communication with local governments, businesses and private landowners, so until the course is finalized in September 2023, the distance is approximate. What else? On-course nutrition and mechanical support, post-ride bike wash, yummy food & bevvies are included with your entry!
New for 2023: no need for single-event licence; everyone is covered just in a different method! However, if you have a 2023 CBC licence please add that info in the registration process.
Got a lot of friends? Form a team of 4 riders and save 10%! (note: a cycling club name does not qualify as a team). You MUST register all participants at the same time; fill out Rider #1 info and then click "add participant" for each subsequent rider. You will need each rider's date of birth, address, phone#, emergency contact name and phone #, and CBC licence if applicable when you register.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Registration deadline: Friday, October 6, 2023 - a full 9 days before the event. This enables us to get the best pricing for everything we need to make this your favourite event!
RACE PKG PICKUP: One day only! Saturday Oct 14 at Russ Hay's the Bicycle Shop 650 Hillside Ave from noon - 5 p.m. Note: ONLY if you are an out-of-town rider will you be able to pick up your race number on event day from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m.
