Our story…
Just like that, 15 years have come and gone. It feels like just yesterday that I met Brian Sturgis and his incredible family and learned about the orphan disease, Cystinosis, that impacted their lives. I must be honest, at that time the goal of funding research to find a cure seemed outrageous and a long shot at best. However, doubt clouded my vision as to what was truly possible and I would never have imagined the efforts to come from so many people.
It is incredible to see the power that ONE goal has had in inspiring HUNDREDS of people who connected with THOUSANDS of others who were willing to contribute which has resulted in MILLIONS of dollars raised to achieve that ONE goal!
These 24 Hours for Hank events have meant a lot to me and have forced me to the edge of what I thought was possible. As we are just a few days away from the 15th and final event I am equal parts saddened that this chapter is coming to end, but with tears in my eyes am so damn grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to this cause and to know we have made a very real, very positive difference. For those who have contributed in helping make this happen...THANK YOU.
