ABOUT WATTS 2 BOSTON

Watts 2 Boston is a registered 501c3 non-profit, who in partnership with the LAPD, supports students from Watts, California on their college journey. The mission of Watts 2 Boston is to provide young scholars from Watts resources and accessibility to education while helping them navigate their path to college in the Boston area.

Watts is located in South Central Los Angeles and has over 7,000 gang members within its 2.2 square miles. Less than 2% of residents are college graduates. The LAPD identifies youth in the community who demonstrate drive and potential, and in addition to actively mentoring them, helps fund tuition for private school as a way to help them thrive academically and fulfill their future dreams. Watts 2 Boston helps these students (most of whom are the first in their families to attend college) navigate the college process, hosts them on a college tour of Boston area colleges, and allows them to get a break from life in a high crime area. Watts 2 Boston allows them to imagine a future beyond what their home environment might lead them to believe is possible.

We are appreciative of every mile ran and every dollar donated as it immediately goes to help these young scholars.
