My Story…
My mother died of Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer 5 years ago. My mother was an amazing woman, my best friend, biggest supporter, and had a love for all exercise especially running. I was 3 months pregnant with my first child when we knew we were saying our goodbyes. Having friends, co-workers, and a community that supported my family so deeply means everything to me. The Boston North Cancer has a Scholarship in my mother's name, everything I raise running in the Falmouth Road Race will directly go towards my mother's scholarship.
The Mary Barbuzzi Breast Cancer Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a college-bound north of Boston high school senior whose parent is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, survived breast cancer treatment, or passed away from breast cancer.
