My Story…
My mom and I have been given the opportunity to run the 2023 Falmouth Road Race on behalf of South Shore ARC. Many of you know Paula my aunt, who has been a member of the ARCs Day and residential programs for almost 45 years. The ARC provides opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The ARC is continuously creative, finding new ways to teach, challenge and bring joy to their members in a healthy and safe environment. Paula has learned yoga, golf, gardening, participated in dance parties, along with working in local businesses earning her own paychecks. After my Bamma died in 2008, Paula joined the ARCs residential program where she has gained independence and continued to thrive. The staff of the ARC are dedicated to their members, always advocating for them and providing them opportunities to expand their knowledge and maximize their individual potential.
