My Story…
I am honored to be running the Falmouth road race and raise funds for the EmpowerHER team.
EmpowerHER is an amazing organization that helps young girls who have lost their mother. They host events, match them with mentors, and provide support. This organization is providing life changing work and I am so proud to be a small part of that.
I lost my mother suddenly when I was 17 years old. 2 years later, my father passed away after a short battle with cancer. Orphaned at 19, it had changed my life forever. I am now 38 years old and continue to grieve and learn to live without them every single day. I was incredibly lucky to have amazing family and friend s by my side, but I know having a group like EmpowerHER would have been so beneficial for me as well.
I appreciate any donation to help this organization thrive and continue to support these young girls. Thank you!
Description
empowerHER® was formed in 2013 with a very specific mission—to empower, support and connect girls and young women up to age 24 who have experienced the loss of their mothers. empowerHER® is a supportive and inclusive community that offers year-round EVENTS for GIRLS that provides peer support and reminds girls they are not alone in their grief. Our MENTOR PROGRAM matches girls and young women with positive role models from the community to show “loss is survivable.”
