My Story…
Growing up the Hannon family was some of the nicest and most welcoming people I ever met. When Mr Hannon suddenly passed away it was a tragedy that effected not just his family but all those around him. I am running the Falmouth Road Race this year in honor of his foundation that raises money for families in need due to sudden, tragic events. Even if you didn’t know Mr Hannon, I’m sure you or someone you know has lost a family member, been faced with a catastrophic event or dealt a tough hand. I’m asking you to consider donating to my cause to help those in need at time when they have nothing else. All amounts are appreciated and will go a long way. Thank you!
Description
A local 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Hannon Foundation Inc. was formed to assist families in eastern Massachusetts who are in financial crisis due to a parent’s loss of employment, or a family member’s medical condition. Our goal and our mission is to help our community one family at a time.
Our 2015 golf tournament was the inspiration for creating the foundation. The tournament was held in support of the 2-year old son of a friend who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. The money raised at that tournament allowed dad to take time off work to be with his son during chemotherapy, scans and transfusions, and to spend time with the rest of his family. There are stories like this everywhere, and we were inspired to keep going.
This will be our sixth year participating in the Falmouth Road Race, and our fifth as an official nonprofit organization.
