Welcome to my 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race Page!
In 2008, at the age of 29 and only months after his wedding, my brother Brian was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). GBM is a stage 4, highly aggressive malignant tumor with a grim prognosis for survival. Brian's team of doctors told him he had 6-18 months left to live. Brian soon entered a clinical trial at Duke University and began chemo and radiation along with other experimental treatments. He drastically changed his diet and began exercising daily, including running, which he never did before his diagnosis.
Today, fourteen years later, Brian is alive and well. In fact, he's the healthiest and strongest he's ever been and in 2022 he completed his third Boston Marathon with a personal record of 3:51! He is truly a miracle and such an inspiration. On August 20, 2023, I'll be running the 2023 Falmouth Road Race on the Gray Nation Endurance Team in support of the National Brain Tumor Society! I am running in honor of my brother and in memory of so many others who weren't as lucky as him. I have been fundraising for NBTS since 2009 and helped raise over $225,000. I am so excited to be returning to the Gray National Endurance team for another event, and my third time running Falmouth!
Please join my fight against brain tumors and help me support the National Brain Tumor Society by making a donation through my page. The process is fast, easy and secure. Thanks so much for your support... and please don't forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating!
Love,
Denise
