Help Marian raise money

For participating in The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

Welcome to my 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race Page!

The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” originates from an African proverb and conveys the message that it takes many people to provide a safe, healthy environment where children feel secure and can develop and flourish.

The same holds true for the parents!

We are a group of moms that connected while raising our elementary school-aged boys. We have leaned on one another through the good and the bad and together we have foraged a path through this crazy thing we call life. We have found more strength in one another than we would have alone.

On April 16th, 2022 one of our own was also diagnosed with glioblastoma.

Cindy Fitzpatrick fought a valiant battle and was able to celebrate her 62nd birthday in May. Sadly, her fight ended June 18th.

Surgery and treatments can slow the growth and reduce symptoms, but the harsh reality is that the average life expectancy after a diagnosis is between 14 and 16 months. There is NO CURE.

We are NOT runners.

We are running for hope.

We are running because our friend cannot.

We are running to honor our friend and to help others.

We are running to raise funds for research.

One hundred percent of the funds raised goes to research and patient care as part of The National Brain Tumor Society. The largest patient advocacy organization in the United States committed to curing brain tumors and improving the lives of patients and families. Funds raised previously have benefitted programs and initiatives including: DNA Damage Response Consortium, Immunotherapy, Precision Medicine and Tumor Metabolism.

Let's fight this beast together!

Thank you for your consideration.
