Help Danielle raise money

For participating in The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

Thank you for checking out my race page! This year, I am excited to be raising money for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, in honor of our recently departed humane education animals at Nevins Farm, Tucker and Dr. Jack Pawkins.

In his time at Nevins, Tucker touched the lives of many children, adults and animals, leaving behind so many good memories for every one that he met.  Tucker was a sixteen-year-old jack russell terrier mix, who was adopted from Nevins Farm as a puppy in 2006.  Tucker began his career in 2007, debuting as the MSPCA Children's Summer Camp mascot, a role he remained in through last summer. During his sixteen years, Tucker participated in all of our programs for kids at Nevins, as well as numerous educational off sites in the community. In 2009, he was inducted into the MSPCA-Angell Hall of Fame (along with two of his canine friends) after receiving the Animal Hero Award for his work in humane education.

Jack was adopted in March of 2015, while helping during the Humane Education’s Rescue Readers Program.  Once in his new home, Jack blossomed and his true calling was quickly discovered!  Jack took classes to become a certified therapy animal in July of 2016, and passed his evaluation at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, in front of a panel of judges from across the nation. While other animal species becoming certified is fairly common now, at the time Jack had become only the second team in the Northeast represented by a guinea pig. He was soon regularly invited all around Massachusetts, working his charm on kids and adults of all ages.

I am so proud to represent these two amazing animals at this years race.  The money raised will help the MSPCA continue to care for countless homeless animals in their shelters, who just like Tucker and Jack, are waiting for a family who will love them and unlock their untapped potential.

Thank you so much for your support!
