Help Meghan raise money

I am proud to be running the Falmouth Road Race for the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of New England with my friend Pete DeMarco as our team captain! 

Asthma and allergies touch many families, including mine. Symptoms can range from easily manageable to life-threateningly severe. 

Unfortunately, there are serious inequities in who is most impacted by these conditions. The burden of asthma in the United States falls disproportionately on Black, Hispanic and American Indian/Alaska Native people. These groups have the highest asthma rates, deaths and hospitalizations. Sources of this disparity include structural and environmental racism. 

Many of the recent advancements in pharmaceutical treatments for asthma are prohibitively expensive for many families, including older adults on fixed incomes.

AAFA is dedicated to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease for people with asthma and allergies through support, advocacy, education, and research.

This will be my second time running the Falmouth Road race. My first time was exactly one month after I lost my partner Greg in 2021. I honestly have no idea how I did it. I will be running this year to acknowledge the difficult road I have been on since and celebrate climbing the many steep hills I have faced (including the one at the end of this race!). Every step of the way, I will remember Greg and, especially, his love of the ocean.
