It is that time of year when I amble my way along the shores of Falmouth in my 5th FRR for New England Donor Services!
Organ donation is clearly near and dear to my 💚💙... kidney. I feel especially grateful to be a living donor. Paul and I were friends long before talk of kidneys, so to share this bond and see his success, both in health and in life, humbles me. So many people don't get to see the success of recipients and I run because I want people to know, it matters. It makes a difference.
In February of 2009 I donated my kidney to Paul, and I say all the time, I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I still want to do more. There are more than 100,000 people waiting for lifesaving organ transplants and I can't save them, but I can help. AND SO CAN YOU!
So while I'm out there trying to run(slowly) I ask two things of you...

2- If you are financially able, please donate

Description
New England Donor Services is the not-for-profit organization serving the region for organ and tissue donation. There are currently 6,500 patients waiting for an organ transplant in New England and countless others will require tissue to heal this year. With approximately half of the population registered donor, it's critical for more people to join the Donor Registry today. Funds are needed to help educate the community about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the need across the community. Give now and show your support!
