I'm running the 51st ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
I was inspired to run Falmouth in support of JAF after watching my dear friends Kristen Wingate and Jen Pease raise $20,000+ for the foundation during the Boston Marathon this year. Through their fundraising efforts I learned so much about the amazing things this foundation does to support cancer patients and their families.
I have experienced firsthand how devastating a cancer diagnosis, and how challenging the journey is on the whole family. I am honored to have the opportunity to raise money to make this easier on families, so they can focus on what is important, taking care of themselves and staying healthy.
I will be running this race in honor of my father who lost his battle with brain cancer 12 years ago. My father ran competitively in High School, and was one of the most generous people I have ever met. I know that he would love everything about this race and this foundation! He was always so proud of his children's accomplishments, big or small. I know that he will be cheering my on all 7 miles!
