I'm running the 51st ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
This will be my sixth Falmouth Road Race and my second in a row running for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. But this year is different than in the past. In February my father passed away after a courageous two year battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Throughout his life, he put other people's interests before his own. His life and his legacy are my motivation this year.
I am proud to support JAF's mission to provide financial assistance to individuals and their families after a cancer diagnosis. In 2021 both my father and sister were diagnosed with advanced cancers just weeks apart. Helping families navigate the turmoil and financial stress in the wake of a cancer diagnosis (let alone two) is personal to me.
According to JAF, pending Financial Assistance Program applications continue to rise. There has been a tsunami of new cancer diagnoses. Delayed screenings and appointments due to the pandemic have resulted in extraordinary increases and later staged diagnoses. This is a critical time for those patients and their families. The money raised here will go towards funding the JAF’s critical mission to provide financial support to those in need.
No donation is too small. Every dollar counts. Check with your employer to see if they have a donation matching program.
Thank you so much for your support.
