I am once again running in the Falmouth Road Race, my 12th year, on Sunday, August 20th. I run, although slowly, for Independence House's visibility, for those who have no voice, to raise funds and because I can. Domestic and sexual violence is still an epidemic and although most of the funds are used for direct services we are also charged with Prevention. Our present prevention work is focused on people with intellectual disabilities, a very vulnerable population to abuse. If you are able, please consider sponsoring me in the FRR. My goal is $2000. I’m asking for $20, more if you can/less if you can’t. Thank you for your support whether it is a donation or your cheering from your yard. Independence House, Inc. offers assistance to residents of all 15 towns on Cape Cod who are survivors, children of survivors, or non-offending family members of survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Independence House assistance is accessible at any of our four office locations; in all Cape Cod Probate and District Courts; at Falmouth Police Department; through numerous collaborations, and on the Independence House 24-hour uninterrupted hotline.
