I'm running the Falmouth Road to END ALZ!
On August 20th I will be running in the 2023 Falmouth Road Race as a charity runner for Team End ALZ. My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2014, and passed away on January 16th, 2023. This year, I will be running to honor my grandmother and all those affected by this horrible disease. Witnessing her cognitive and physical declines as the disease progressed has put me on a mission to raise funds and awareness to help end Alzheimer’s. Something that my grandmother would say is “It’s not that I don’t care, because I do, it’s just that I don’t remember things”. When I first ran for Team End ALZ in support of my grandmother in 2021, her jaw dropped and she started crying in disbelief when I told her that I had raised over $1,000 in support of her. When I told her this same news one month later, she had a reaction so genuine and pure while re-experiencing this happy moment. I would do anything to be able to sit next to her and tell her just one more time that I am running for her. This year as a charity runner is especially important to me, and any donation to my fundraising page will help and will make a difference. Thank you!
To reach, and hopefully exceed my personal fundraising goal, I have put together a “Night Out” raffle basket with gift cards donated from local restaurants/businesses and a “Celebration” basket with rum, tequila, wine, whiskey, and scratch tickets. Raffle tickets can be purchased until Thursday, August 17th, and a winner will be announced via livestream on the Haddad’s Ocean Cafe Facebook page on Friday, August 18th.
