My Story…
Growing up in Massachusetts, the Falmouth Road Race has always been on the bucket list to run at least once. In August, I will be lacing up to run the FRR with the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition Team. Unfortunately, not only has breast cancer affected my immediate family, but both of my parent’s families have been affected by multi-generations of women with a breast cancer diagnosis. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and one of my biggest supporters of my running journey (more times than less, reminding me how crazy I am!) who I am dedicating this race to. I look forward to running in support of a cause that helps prevent other families from experiencing a breast cancer diagnosis.
I was raised in a house that appreciated environmental impact. The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition is dedicated to preventing environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy. They believe that to eradicate breast cancer we must prevent it. Their goal and research are dedicated to finding the causes of breast cancer, so that we can stop it before it starts.
Lastly, I was also born into a family of runners. Both my mom and dad ran the Falmouth Road Race as kids and most of their brothers and sisters ran it too. Looking forward to keeping the family tradition alive! I would appreciate any size donation in support of my run at the Falmouth Road Race for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition!
