Help Jillian raise money

For participating in The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!

64921fa21ffab.jpgI'm honored to be running the Falmouth Road race for the ALS One Team in memory of my husband Bobby's grandfather, Robert 'Bob' Blandford. This year will be 15 years since Bob passed away after a battle with ALS. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet Bob, as my husband and I met after Bob died. When others describe Bob, they tell me he was someone who could make friends with anybody - from the person working in a toll booth, to servers in a restaurant - his personality was infectious and he was always striking up conversations with those around him. ALS eventually took away Bob's gift of gab and prevented him from verbally communicating, essentially taking over his body from the inside out.

Bob was also an avid golfer and spent a great deal of time at the golf course - something my husband does too! I love that my husband honors his legacy by continuing to partake in a sport that they often did together. While it does make me sad that I never had the opportunity to meet someone who was so influential in my husband's life, I am excited to participate in the Falmouth Road Race to help raise funds to #EndALS. Thank you so much for supporting a cause that means a lot to my family.

Description

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 51st running of the Falmouth Road Race! This prestigious event takes place in-person on August 20, 2023 along the coastline streets of beautiful Falmouth, MA!  At-home runners will complete 7 miles in any way of their choosing during the week of August 12-19, 2023.

Your support means the world to me and to all of us and will help to advance critical research at MGH, UMass Medical School, and ALS TDI, while providing essential equipment such as lifts, ramps, wheelchairs and assistive technology devices to individuals currently living with ALS via our care team at Compassionate Care ALS - all incredible partners that make up ALS ONE.

Your  donation is fully tax-deductible, as ALS ONE is a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN #47-4984263).
