An In-Person and Virtual 5K Fun Run / Walk

Join us September 14th at Tumbled Rock Brewery and Kitchen for an "In-Person" 5k Fun Run and Walk,

- OR -

Run Virtually between June 1st and September 13th,

All to raise awareness and to educate children and adults on diabetes as well as to raise money for the Baraboo Lions Club's many community projects including eye health and diabetes education.


Registration by the end of the day on August 31st includes a free T-shirt

Adults (18 plus) - $25.00

Children (up to 17) - $20.00

Team (Min. 4 members to win trophy) - $25.00 per member


This year’s Strides Against Diabetes fun run/walk, we will again be presenting traveling trophies for each of three categories. The winning teams will have their names engraved on the trophies and be given the trophy to display until next year’s event.

Three trophies will be presented.

  • The first trophy will be for the team that raises the most money to support Diabetes Awareness and Support.
    • This will include donations raised by the team exclusive of entry fees.

  • The next two trophies will go to the teams with the lowest total time for the first four finishers.
    • The first trophy goes to the team with the lowest time.
    • The second trophy goes to the team with the second lowest time.

All times will be kept by the Baraboo Lions Club and are final. Any donations solicited by a team should have the team name clearly identified on the donation. In the event of a tie for any trophy, both team names will be engraved on the trophy, and the teams will be asked to share the trophy for the year.

Awards will be presented for the first dog to finish, the first stroller to finish, and the finisher wearing a Strides Run T-Shirt from a previous run. If there are no qualifying participants, Baraboo Lions Club will make the award to a participant of their choice.

* This is a Rain or Shine event. In the case of Inclement Weather, this event may be canceled in whole or part at the sole discretion of the Baraboo Lions club. No refunds of registration donations will be provided. Baraboo Lions club, at its discretion, may or may not provide an alternate venue or option to complete this 5k at another time.

100% of the profits raised this year will be used to continue the diabetes awareness week as well as continue to fund the rest of the diabetes programs and related community assistance.

Running of the Lions 2023 has a virtual option! This means you can participate in the event from a remote location and submit your times to appear here in the results listing. You click the "submit a virtual result" button and have your confirmation number ready.
