My Story…
Last May Riley had surgery in London to address severe scoliosis. She has made an amazing recovery, returning to skating and school. She has applied for and been accepted to college. As always, she is a confident and happy young lady, despite all the challenges she faces. Riley provides us great reminders to enjoy the little moments, love what you do despite what other people think, laugh at everything and to keep learning. I can honestly say that the surgery changed her life. Craig and I felt so lucky to stay at the Ronald McDonald House while she was an in-patient in London. It really became a home away from home and I have no doubt that being able to stay there contributed to Riley’s quick and full recovery. This is the reason I am walking in the Big Red Shoe Run, to ensure other people in our community will have the same benefits as we did during some really hard moments. If you have the means please consider donating. Or even better, come join us for a walk!
