Help Sarah raise money

For participating in National 5K SCADaddle for Research - Chicago area

My Story…

Hello family and friends: As some of you know, on March 28th 2023, I had what's called a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) heart attack at the age of 38. SCAD predominately affects women, often healthy, with no-known risk factors. SCAD heart attacks happen when a sudden tear occurs in the layers of one or more of the arteries of the heart. Unfortunately, SCAD may cause cardiac arrest and even death. SCAD is the #1 cause of a heart attack in women under age 50 as well as the #1 cause of a heart attack in women who are pregnant and new mothers. SCAD is poorly understood and research is still in its infancy. With your generous donation of $5, 20, or even $50, money can be directed to fund new research on what causes these types of cardiovascular events and how to prevent them in the future. I am joining my fellow SCAD survivors on June 17th in Chicago to raise awareness of this life-changing condition. Thank you for your support!
