Welcome 2023 HBCU family and supporters!
This year we are celebrating as we prepare to host our 3rd Annual Philadelphia HBCU 5K Run Walk!
It seems like yesterday when we launched our 1st race during the height of the pandemic as a virtual only event and just 100 participants. Thanks to you this event has grown into the largest run walk of it’s kind in the country - taking place in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Washington DC!
For the past two years we have successfully raised over $60K in scholarships for Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware students through our HBCU alumni association member schools and community partners. But what is really amazing about this feat is that we were able to accomplish this in-person and virtually while keeping our community safe and active.
This year, we are excited to build on our previous success by bringing our run walk to Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ! Along with the physical run walk, we will continue to keep the virtual component of the run walk for all of our supporters who joined us from across the country and around the world.
We are also excited to have our HBCU Alumni Alliance affiliates in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. join this effort as we come together to raise funds for our students, and promote healthy lifestyles by jointly hosting the HBCU Run Walk in our respective cities.
Lastly, I would like to recognize our supporters for your continued commitment towards this effort. Your participation brings alive our motto “Run for YOU, Run for THEM, Run for OUR LEGACY”. Without your contributions we would not be celebrating three years of hosting this event, so thanks for your continued commitment and belief in our goal to support the mission of HBCUs and assist the students who attend them.
Service is our Legacy & Future,
