Our story…
Our team is raising money for HeartWorks, the Center for Well-Being's cardiac rehab program. Our patients come to HeartWorks following various cardiac events with the goal of increasing their aerobic capacity and thus reducing their risk of having future cardiac events. Patients exercise for 30-45 minutes 2-3x/week using various pieces of exercise equipment including treadmills, recumbent bikes, NuSteps, arm ergometers, and ellipticals. After completing 3-4 months of rehab, patients leave with increased fitness, increased confidence to exercise safely, and knowledge of how to manage their risk factors through regular exercise and healthy lifestyle habits.
As a non-profit, the Center for Well-Being obtains the majority of HeartWorks' funds from grants, but we don't have a lot of money to spare on extra equipment. Please help us raise money for new exercise equipment so we can continue to use exercise as medicine to serve our community!
