In celebration of ERCA’s 50th Year of Conservation, the Essex Region Conservation Foundation is inviting hikers from around the Windsor-Essex region to join us in hiking for conservation!
Host a Hike!
On June 3, just in time for International Trails Day, we hope you will Host a Hike for W.E.Hike 2023. As a Hike Host, you will:
- Invite your friends and family members to join you on a hike for conservation.
Encourage a minimum donation per hiker of $25, or a suggested minimum family donation of $50. - All eligible donations receive a tax receipt from the Foundation and all funds raised support local conservation initiatives.
- Use your imagination! Hikes can be any time of day or evening, and can range from a guided nature experience to a casual waterfront stroll!
- Host a private event for your guests, or encourage your team to sign up for one of our guided experiences.
- Consider an ‘after-hike’ celebration to raise even more funds for conservation!

Let's Get Ready to Stumble - Walk the Wineries 2023 Closed
Join us to walk the wineries for conservation. We’ll be exploring and experiencing the local wineries along County Rd 50 and the beautiful Erie shore of Essex County. We’ll begin our hike at CREW Winery (Colchester Ridge Estate Winery) where a light lunch and tastings are encouraged. From there we’ll walk on to North 42, Viewpointe, Colio, and finishing at Oxley Estate Winery where walkers are encouraged to dine and enjoy local fare and music! All food and beverages along the hike are the responsibility of individual walkers. Hike Host: Meghan Boschin Starting time: 12:00pm Starting Location: CREW Winery (Colchester Ridge Estate Winery) Approximate Duration: 5 hours Maximum Participants: 20

A guided tour along well-managed winding trails and boardwalks through this 20 hectare oak-hickory Carolinian forest. Passing the upper reaches of the meandering Puce River, try to spot the Indigenous signal tree! Join me after in our back yard for snacks, refreshments, and a swim (weather permitting). Starting Location: Maidstone Conservation Area Start time: 1:30pm Approximate Duration: 1 hour Maximum Participants: 25
