Montgomery River Run 2023

Race Day Logistics

Starting Location: Village Hall, 200 N. River St., Montgomery, IL

The Montgomery 5K/10K River Run is a family-friendly event that features a flat, fast-running course along both sides of the beautiful Fox River. The 5K and 10K courses are both USATF Certified courses. 5K: IL-06047JW - 10K: IL-13137JW. Pets, kids, strollers, and baby joggers are welcome to run/walk the 5K course but are asked to start at the back of the start corral to ensure a safe run experience for all participants.

Street parking is free and available throughout the downtown area (except River St.) and at Village Hall and its surrounding parking lots.

Register early!

Registration fees increase by $5.00 after August 31, 2023. Shirts are limited and only guaranteed to participants who register before August 31. The Race Committee will do its best to provide shirts for all paying participants, but sizing may be limited.

THE RACE FEE INCLUDES A LONG-SLEEVE DRY-FIT SHIRT AND GOODIE BAG - WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

Packet Pick Up

Thurs., October 5, from 8 AM - 7 PM and Fri., October 6, from 8 AM - 4:30 PM at the Village of Montgomery, 200 N. River St., at the Utility Billing Counter (upper level). Please note that ALL race packets are by individual's last names, regardless of whether you are on a team.

Additionally, runners may pick up their packets on Saturday before the race between 8-8:30A.

Timing & Awards

The race is chip-timed by Race Time. Each racer's bib will hold a QR code that may be scanned post-race to review results. Additionally, race results will be posted to the montgomeryil.org website within 24 hours of race completion.

Age Groups and Award Categories

Awards will be given to the top male and female runners in the 5K & the 10K and to the top three runners in each age bracket.

9 & under

10- 14

15- 19

20- 29

30- 39

40- 49

50- 59

60- 69

70 & Over

The awards ceremony will take place outside (weather permitting) in front of Village Hall at approximately 10A (subject to the last runners finishing the race).

Save Money - Grab Your Friends - Create A Team

Groups of four or more may register as a "team" and save $5 off individual registration. Team participants receive the same shirts as individual runners, although for an additional $10 per team member, they can have their team name added to their race shirt sleeve. At least four team members must add the $10 add-on fee, and registration must be completed on or before September 1, 2023, to allow ample time to customize and order shirts.
