Where at Lake Harriet does the race start and end?
The 5K Run, 10K Run, and 5K Walk all start and end on Lake Harriet Parkway by the bandshell parking lot on the northwest side of the lake.
Where do I park?
Parking is available on the residential streets surrounding Lake Harriet and in nearby Linden Hills. It is a short walk from most residential parking on the west side of Lake Harriet. Please allow plenty of time to park and make it to the start of your event on time. We ask that you DO NOT park on the parkway around the lake as we need the whole width of the roadway for the Run and Walk. If you do park along the race course, you will not be permitted to leave until law enforcement opens the street following the race. The bandshell parking lot is closed except for official race vehicles.
When do the registration fees increase?
Register no later than Tuesday, May 9 to avoid the registration price increases which go into effect on May 10.
Can I register the morning of the event?
Walk-up registration will open at Lake Harriet at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13. All runners and walkers are encouraged to register by Sunday, May 9 to avoid the May 10 price increase.
Is there a bag drop?
Participants wishing to utilize bag drop can do so using the clear plastic bags provided by Abria. The plastic bags will be available at Run N Fun during packet pick up on Thursday, May 11 and Lake Harriet on Saturday, May 13.
Will there be a water station on the course?
There will be one water station on the course located at Minnehaha Parkway and Lake Harriet Parkway which is halfway around the lake. 5K runners and walkers will pass this station once; 10K runners will pass it twice.
Is the course certified?
The Life Is Wonderful 5K and 10K course is USATF certified. The 10K consists of two loops around Lake Harriet on the roads. The 5K Run and Walk is one loop around the lake. The course is moderately hilly on north and south ends, flat on east and west sides.
Can I pick up my t-shirt and race bib before event day?
Participants are encouraged to pick up their shirt and bib at Run N Fun in St. Paul on Thursday, May 11th, 3 p.m.-6 p.m. You are welcome to pick up shirts and bibs for multiple registered runners/walkers. Items can also be picked up the morning of the race at Lake Harriet beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Will there be food available?
Post-race refreshments will be available for participants. Food Truck will be at the Lake Harriet Pavilion. They will have snacks, breakfast foods, coffee and more available for purchase.
Can I bring a stroller on the race course?
Baby joggers and strollers are allowed on the course.
Are dogs allowed on the race course?
Since the course will be shared by walkers and the 5K and 10K chip-timed runners, we ask participants to leave their dogs at home for the safety and consideration of all walkers and runners.
