For participating in 2023 Jodi's Race for Awareness

My Story…

Dear Friends and Family,

As you may or may not know, I continue in my battle against stage 4 ovarian cancer after being diagnosed over 2 years ago with this brutal and relentless disease.

After six rounds of chemo, losing my hair, so many doctor appointments and countless pokes and prods it's impossible to count, and two major surgeries, I was fortunate to have a year of "no evidence of disease".

But, as is all too common with ovarian cancer, unfortunately, this particularly sneaky and cruel disease has reared its ugly head once again a few months ago....

So I undergoing chemo treatment once again, six more rounds of chemo through October and then maintenance drugs but my positive attitude and hopes remain high.

I say it often but I feel that my diagnosis has given me a purpose, a life mission, now more than ever, to be an ambassador of sorts for ovarian cancer and help save lives, educate, and inspire others since so many don't seem to know much about this unrelenting disease.

I feel that this mission of mine has manifested through my involvement with the incredible non-profit, the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance/COCA, a group that has provided me with more support, hope and assistance than I can put in words.

COCA has truly saved me in countless ways, I view this new purpose of mine and COCA as silver linings to this Godforsaken disease.

SO many woman in the community in my same situation have benefited from COCA's support groups, financial aid/assistance, comfort kits when first diagnosed, and assistance figuring out the health care insurance quagmire of hell and so much more.

So, I kindly ask if you could PLEASE help me support my beloved COCA to continue on with their invaluable assistance to me and other women in my shoes.

To support me and this amazing organization you can:

--  Join me on Saturday, June 10th at 8:30 am at City Park for the amazingly fun 5K walk (or run)  - - just like the previous 2 years, we will have costumes, team t-shirts, music, laughter, happy tears, shenanigans, it will be a blast! Go to the link under my pic on this site "Join my team" to be a part of this kick ass event.

-- Donate to Jodi’s Race to keep these ultra-supportive and life-changing COCA programs stay afloat (go to the "Make a donation" link on the top of this page).

-- Or both!  Be a part of the team on June 10 AND donate, COCA needs your support to keep these programs alive!

To get the ball rolling, I have stepped up and donated $250 to Sarah's Team F* Cancer, feels so good to do!

Of course, any and all support means the world to me — each new team member participating and each donation is a boost of positive vibes straight to my heart and soul, providing endless hope and ongoing giant inspiration to me, all good stuff that keeps me going, inspired and hopeful!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, XO

AND CARPE DIEM!!!
