Healthy kids in healthy schools!
I've been working with APPLE schools since 2011 and am in awe that the generous donors and APPLE team continue to support Fort McMurray schools after all of these years!
APPLE has supported the Wood Buffalo region with millions of dollars to support healthy kids in healthy schools. Taste testing, professional development, extra curriculars, wellness education and unconventional sports/partnerships are just a few ways that they ensure students have opportunities to support their own wellness journeys.
APPLE has been a constant support within our schools and I'm excited we have a chance to show this amazing, globally recognized, non profit organization that we appreciate the heck out of them!
My two kids and I will be running for APPLE and, if you're able, I hope you can support this organization to ensure our schools continue to prioritize healthy kids in healthy schools.
Description
APPLE Schools (A Project Promoting healthy Living for Everyone in schools) is an innovative health promotion initiative that benefits school communities across Canada. Since 2010, APPLE Schools has been impacting the lives of more than 13,000 students annually in our Fort McMurray schools by improving their healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health habits.
Did you know that a contribution of $10 could purchase seeds so classes can grow indoor gardens, $20 could enable a class to taste test a new food, $50 could help students create a physical activity or mental health break kit. Every dollar helps our school communities to reach their unique health goals.
