2023 P3R/SCRR Course Preview Training Run

MOVE with your fellow Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend trainees at the 2023 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Course Preview Run!

Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m.

Welcome MOVERS at 8:00 a.m.

Dynamic Warm-up at 8:15 a.m.

Pace Groups released in waves starting at 8:20 a.m.

WHERE:

Everything kicks off in Market Square!

OPTIONS:

• The UPMC Health Plan | UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K course, preview presented by EZpass
• Preview ~11 miles of the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon course (including a walking division pace!)
• Preview ~20 miles of the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon course

*All routes start and finish in Market Square

What can you expect?

We will provide on-course water stations, along with post-run hydration stations with water, Nuun Hydration & Honey Stinger Gels. In addition, post-run refreshments will be provided for all runners.

All runners are welcome so bring a friend and come on out for this fun time!

Pace Groups:

Regardless of mileage, all pace groups will be leaving Market Square together based on pace per mile.

• The ~11 milers will have designated pacers for 7:00, 7:30, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00 Run/Walk paces.
• The ~20 milers will have designated pacers for 7:00, 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30 and 13:00 paces.
• The 5K'ers will be able to run with any of the groups above for the first 2.1 miles, but will finish the last mile back to Market Square on their own.

We recommend everyone access the routes via RunGo.

It is recommended that you run at a pace that is 30 seconds to one minute slower than your race pace. The pacers will be pacing at the announced pace while running. Traffic stops and water stops will not be factored into the pace.

While this run is FREE for you to participate, we do ask that, in return, each participant donates $10 to support Kids of STEEL, P3R's FREE youth running program. If every participant donates $10, we can provide transportation for a Kids of STEEL team in Western Pennsylvania to make it to the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon on May 6!
