XTERRA TRAIL RUN PEMBERTON
Your "Adventure Begins Here" at the base of the majestic Mount Currie. For 2023 we have two trail race offerings. For the adventurous, we have a 22km route that begins in the valley at the base of the Mckenzie trail network.
Runners will have a flat to undulating start before tackling a long climb trail. You will come out at the paraglide launch and beautiful views for a brief respite before heading uphill again into some beautiful forest aptly named Middle Earth. Then you descend all the way back to the valley. Stunning trails and views await you!
To add an extra element we are timing your first climb, and a segment of your descent. There will be prizes for the fastest ascent and fastest descent times. Will you risk blowing up, or your overall position by gunning for those sections? It will be exciting to see tactics play out!
Our trail half marathon is part of the XTERRA Trail Run World Series and thus has XTERRA Trail Run World Championship slots on offer.
For those that aren't up for a tough trail half marathon, we have a fun 9km course too.
* $5 from every entry goes to Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA)
** We have Youth pricing for those under 18 (age as end of 2023). Scroll down for youth registration details for both 22K and 9K events. This is not a separate category or race, it's simply a discounted rate for those under 18.

Donations
In 2023 Endurance Specific events are bringing an XTERRA Trail Run Race to the beautiful town of Pemberton and we are grateful to work, live, play on & protect the shared, unceded territory of the Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nations. We respect and commit to a deep consideration of their history, culture, stewardship, and voice.
In bringing this world-class trail race to Pemberton we have decided to fundraise for three important groups.
"The Recreation Department keeps The Líl̓wat Nation an active place, offering sports, recreation and leisure programs for all ages. All of the department’s activities are designed to benefit community members physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually."
2. Indigenous Life Sport Academy
"The Indigenous Life Sport Academy (ILSA) is a not-for-profit that helps create social change and development within Indigenous communities. ILSA provides Indigenous youth with opportunities to play, express themselves, improve both their mental and physical health, as well as learn skills such as snowboarding, skateboarding, biking, climbing, hiking, and golf that can benefit them long into their adult years. These healthy sport-based outlets assist in the relief of conscious and subconscious stresses induced by intergenerational trauma within indigenous communities."

3. Pemberton Valley Trails Association
"The PVTA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run group with a mandate to build, maintain, and advocate for trails in Pemberton, BC. They are unique to the Sea to Sky corridor in that the association encompasses many multiple user groups such as Trail Runners, Mountain Bikers, Horse Riders, Moto users, Paragliders, Hikers and in Winter even Cross Country Skiers! As a united front the PVTA aims to enhance and preserve the trail network for everyone in the region."
