The Race for Equity is an event to raise awareness, support, and funds for kids in the Hamline Midway, and Frogtown neighborhoods in St. Paul, Minnesota. All proceeds will go to fund scholarships for kids eager to participate in CO·MOTION'S programs.
In-Person Event. The in-person event will take place on:
- Day and Time: Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 9:30 AM CST
- Location: Como Park, 1360 North Lexington Pkwy, St. Paul, MN next to Schiffman Fountain
- Schedule of events for the day:
- 8:30 am - 9:30 am - Check-in Opens (Bib pick-up)
- 9:30 am - Welcoming Remarks
- 9:45 am - 100 Meter Dash and Award Ceremony (Finisher medals)
- 10:00 am - 1 Mile and 5 KM Walk / Run
All participants will receive a T-shirt along with some additional swag :)
Virtual Option/s. There are options to participate virtually, including a Virtual 5 KM Team option and a Solo 5 KM option.
This event is hosted by CO·MOTION: Center for Movement, which is a first-of-its-kind multicultural, multi-ethnic, arts, athletics, and wellness community. Combining a boxing gym, dance and fitness studio(s), game room and even a performance center, CO·MOTION’S space currently stretches over 40,000 square feet and is located in the St. Paul Hamline Midway neighborhood. Outreach, scholarships, camps, and mentorship are all services CO·MOTION provides low-income individuals & families around St. Paul. CO·MOTION provides an intergenerational environment of healthy minds, bodies, and spirits that serve to enrich the broader community, with a focus on strengthening the underserved, low-income neighborhoods of Frogtown, Selby/Dale, Hamline Midway in St. Paul.
