Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Join us for our 6th annual Greater Lehigh Valley 5K SCADaddle to raise money for much needed SCAD research. Our timed 5K run/walk takes place at Upper Saucon Township Community Park in Center Valley, PA - a kid friendly and dog friendly park. We encourage families to participate.
Packet pick-up begins at 8:30 am on September 30 at Upper Saucon Township Community Park.
The SCADaddle takes place rain or shine! Come prepared by bringing your raincoat and umbrella.
Register by August 25th to guarantee this year's t-shirt.

SCAD Reunion Events
The following are specific events for survivors, their supporters, and the families of those who did not survive.
Friday evening, 9/29, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- Meet & Greet at Quakertown Trolley Barn Public Market.
- There are two (2) fire pits reserved for our use.
- Guests can purchase drinks & food while gathering & mingling with our SCAD friends in town for the race
Saturday Afternoon, 9/30, 3:00 pm:
- Join us for a SCAD Informational Seminar on the latest research and developments at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. (1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd, Allentown, PA)

Race Day Schedule
- 8:30 am - 9:45 am Race Day registration (cannot guarantee a race T-shirt on registration) Packet Pick-up for all runners and walkers
- 10:00 am The SCADaddle run/walk will begin (10:00 am sharp)
- Post Race Awards immediately following the race.
- Post Race Activities After the awards, we welcome you to join others under the pavilion to mingle and socialize, but most of all, to relax and have fun!! The Bayou/Wiz Kidz and Batch Micro-creamery will be at the event with their food trucks to enjoy delicious food and ice cream after the SCADaddle run/walk!! In addition, there will be opportunity drawings to enter and win prizes.
Awards
Individual Awards
All runners will be timed. Medals will be awarded to the 1st (first), 2nd (second), and 3rd (third) place male and female finishers and the top 3 (three) male and female finishers in the following age groups: 11 and under; 12-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+
An award ceremony will take place immediately following the SCADaddle run/walk!
