My Story…
Everyone who is unsheltered on London's streets has a story and is deserving of dignity and a place to call home. I advocate for those most marginalized both in my professional work as well as in my involvement in outreach initiatives.
As an Associate Professor in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, my students work directly with numerous organizations supporting those deprived of housing. I have secured grants of over half a million dollars to support oral health care initiatives for marginalized Londoners and provide opportunities to learners to work with and learn from amazing community partners.
During my outreach work, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many friends that deserve better than what they currently have. I directly participate in outreach initiatives with community partners like Project Hope London and 519Pursuit.
And as a woman who left an abusive relationship, I can understand why domestic violence is one of the top reasons why women may enter into homelessness.
This November, I'm entering the ring to fundraise for Youth Opportunities Unlimited and their amazing initiatives to support marginalized youth in London. Support my fundraising journey, and let's get ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!
