My Story…
Join me for JCYC’s 13th Annual SF Aloha Run on Sunday, September 24th at Crissy Field in San Francisco!
This year's SF Aloha Run For Hope is focused on the future and young people who will one day be our community leaders. Proceeds from the 2023 SF Aloha Run for Hope will support JCYC’s scholarship programs which supports young people in pursuing higher education. This year, the organization is excited to announce that funds raised from the run will be used to launch the inaugural Julie Matsueda Believe Scholarship in addition to supporting the Excellence, Pathways and Thomatra Scott scholarship programs.
Christine, why do you choose to work at JCYC?
I remember my first year at Chibi and it was a feeling I will never forget. Every day did not feel like work and I truly enjoy working with the kids, my colleagues, and my managers. We are like family here and there is nothing more I would want to do than to work with people who inspire, teach, and make a difference in kid’s lives.
Overall, my life’s mission is to help the next generation in my community to help shape and become better human beings for our society. Similar to JCYC’s mission, to better our community by cultivating and enriching the lives of children and youth from diverse, multi-cultural communities throughout San Francisco and beyond is great to have the same core values. I know when things are aligned, only great things can come from it!
