The YMCA Northumberland's Rainbow Run is a community and family-friendly event that celebrates the LGBTQIA2S+ community and its allies.
The event helps celebrate inclusion and diversity during Pride month
and encourages healthy living through movement.
The event welcomes everyone.
The first 100 registrants will receive a t-shirt.
Our T-shirt order has been placed and we are not accepting new orders.
There will be a limited supply of extra shirts for sale at kit pickup.
$20 Adult/ $15 Youth cash only please.
Finisher Medals will be given to celebrate your run or walk.
This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada through the ParticipACTION Community Challenge Grant The Community Challenge is a national physical activity initiative that encourages everyone to get active together throughout June, with Canada’s most active community winning the top prize of $100,000 to go towards local physical activity and sport initiatives.

Children 12 years old and younger are free.
We encourage you to make this a festive event and dress for the occasion!
Furry friends are welcome.
Strollers are welcome.
For the safety of the runners, we ask that our strollers and furry friends let the running participants lead the fun.

Parking:
Be advised that road closures are in effect as of 7:00 a.m.
After 7 am you can avoid the road closure and still get to the parking at the Harbour if you access it by driving south on Ontario Street, turn left onto Albert St, right on Hibernia St, and left onto Third Street. Remember it is paid parking from 9 am - 8 pm.
To access parking south of King Street travel south on Division Street. We encourage you to arrive early to find parking and to avoid traffic congestion due to run road closures. Carpool where possible.
There are many options for parking near the run starting line located at the Marina and along the waterfront. Waterfront parking, on-street and in waterfront parking lots, is enforced from 9am - 8pm, Monday to Sunday, holidays included, with the exception of the East Beach Parking Area, which is enforced from 9am to 4pm.. The following lots are included in Waterfront Parking:
- McGill Street lot
- Centennial Lot
- Charles Street Lot
- The Esplanade Lots (East and West)
- Albert Street Lot
On street and downtown lot PAID parking is available in Downtown Cobourg. The Town of Cobourg offers two (2) hours free parking in the following downtown municipal lots a short walk to the starting line at the Cobourg Marina:
- Covert Street Parking Lot
- Second Street Parking Lot
- Victoria Square Parking Lot
- Third Street Parking Lot
- Hibernia Street Parking Lot

Important Safety Note
For the safety of all participants, we strongly recommend against wearing iPods or similar audio devices that inhibit your ability to hear surrounding sounds. This is a danger to fellow participants and yourself if you cannot hear direction from a race official, event participant, or emergency vehicles.

YMCA Northumberland Course
The course is a 2.5Km course. Participants can walk or run the course.
A 5Km option is available to participants. Participants would do the course 2 times.
9:30 am start. Closures from 8:30 until 11:00 am.
Start at the Cobourg Yacht club. Head west towards the Boardwalk. Take a small dip south towards the boat storage gate and back to the Boardwalk. Turn at the first right on the Boardwalk to connect to Durham Street.
Travel north on Durham street (staying to the right on the roadway). Turn right at King St and head east.
Turn right onto McGill Street (stay to the left on McGill Street—try to use the sidewalk). Travel south on McGill St. You will want to use the sidewalk when you approach the parking lot.
At the end of the sidewalk, head right into the trailer park.
Travel through the Camp Ground park (heading west).
Cross Division Street. Turn left and travel south to the bike path.
Turn right onto the bike path and travel west.
Turn left at Third Street, staying on the sidewalk traveling south. Stay on the path going south towards the pier.
Turn onto the path closest to the water and travel west to the finish line.
