About Our Charity
New England Village's mission is to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to realize their potential and pursue their dreams through innovative programs and community living.
For more than 50 years, New England Village has empowered adults with developmental disabilities to realize their potential through residential, day habilitation, and community-based programming. We are dedicated to providing the people we serve with rich community experiences in the greater Boston area, and work closely with community partners like the Flutie Foundation to raise awareness and acceptance of neurodiverse individuals.
A leader in wellness for adults with disabilities, NEV embraces a person-centered approach to supporting people in leading enriching lives through community-based employment and volunteering, physical recreation, and the arts. NEV’s Sollar Wellness Center in Pembroke is uniquely designed to offer the individuals we support and the greater Pembroke community the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle -- boasting an indoor therapy pool, a fitness room, walking track, an art room with a pottery kiln, a massage therapy room, an educational kitchen, and an outdoor labyrinth.
We are so excited to be a new charity partner in the Doug Flutie 5K! By supporting NEV in this race, you are ensuring we can continue to provide top-notch programming, sustainable facility upgrades, and enhanced transportation options for the people we serve. We are so grateful for the steadfast support we receive from our families and friends -- as well as from foundations and fundraisers like this one -- that help us deliver our mission every day. Thank you!
