Virtual 5K Run Challenge

GET READY TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING!

This year’s Care of the Athletic Heart course brings our third annual Virtual 5K Run Challenge. Join us this year for a hybrid running experience - either virtually or in-person! We will host the in-person 5K on Saturday morning June 10th at 6 am. Join us at the starting line outside the Westin Georgetown for this unique opportunity to come together with your community for some heart healthy competition and the chance to win one of several great prizes.

HOW IT WORKS:

• Complimentary access to the Virtual 5K Run Challenge is included with your course registration!
• Your run can be completed anytime between Sunday May 28th and Saturday, June 10th at 10:00 am ET.
• You can plot your own route wherever you like — in your neighborhood, on a trail, or at the gym on a treadmill or join us live for a 5K on Saturday morning in DC!
• During your 5K, you may listen to a curated music playlist from course leadership (see below)!
• Use the ASICS Runkeeper™ app to automatically share your time or manually post your time after you complete the 5K challenge.
• Take a picture and post it to social media using #ACCAthleticHeart and #SportsCardio.
• Prizes will be awarded to the male and female runners with the fastest times:
  • 1st Prize – Whoop Activity tracker with extra band and 12 month membership included!
  • 2nd Prize – Fourth Frontier heart rate monitor.
  • 3rd Prize - Signed copy of the textbook, Sports Cardiology: Care of the Athletic Heart from the Clinic to the Sidelines.
• Winners will be announced during the final session of the course on Saturday, June 10th.
