Yinz like to run, n’at? Dress in yer finest Steel City attire and run 4.12K!
Light of Life Rescue Mission is hosting the annual Yinzer 4.12K and Lil’ Yinzer Fun Run on August 26, 2023 on the North Shore. The event welcomes runners from across the region to dress up in ways that represent Pittsburgh to them – anything from black and gold to their favorite Pittsburgh landmark, there's even a costume contest! Enjoy food trucks, DJ and local personalities, along with interactive fun activations on the Great Lawn and along the course!
Race Day: Plan to arrive early. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and streets close at 8 a.m. We suggest parking at Gold Lot 1. The Lil' Yinzer starts at 8:30 a.m. and the Yinzer 4.12K starts at 9 a.m.
Once again, the event offers an in-person AND a virtual component so yinzers from all around can participate! All proceeds benefit Light of Life Rescue Mission and help your neighbors in need.
ALL participants, including Lil' Yinzers, will receive a race shirt, medal and goody bag*
*While supplies last. Pickup for the swag bag and t-shirts is on August 26 starting at 7 a.m. on the Great Lawn.
**If you register for an in-person event after 5:00pm on Thursday, August 24 you will need to come to the Registration Tent on Race Day to have your race number assigned.**

When is packet pick up?
Packet and t-shirt pick up will begin at 7 AM.
When do the races start?
The Lil’ Yinzer will begin at 8:30 AM and the Yinzer 4.12k will begin at 9:00 AM.
When do I get my swag bag?
Swag bags will be handed out once the participant crosses the finish line, in the chute.
When do the roads close for the Yinzer?
The roads will start to close at 8 AM and open up once the run is over, the latest is 10:45 AM.
Will there be food?
Yes, there will be a couple of food vendors, including a coffee and ice cream truck!
Can my dog run with me?
Dogs are allowed to participate in the Yinzer as long as they are on a leash and you will need to start towards the back of the group in order to prevent any accidents.
Can I run with a stroller?
Strollers are allowed to participate in the Yinzer as long as you start towards the back of the group in order to prevent any accidents.
Can I register on the morning of the race?
Registration will be available on-site, but we recommend registering beforehand.
Will there be children’s activities?
Some lawn games will be available for all attendees and a couple of mascots are scheduled to appear.
If I am a virtual runner, what do I need to do or know?
Thank you for joining the Yinzer 4.12k virtually! Your swag bag, t-shirt, and medal will be mailed to you. Expect it to arrive a couple of days after the event.
