Athletics Ontario invites you ALL to the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area in Ayr, Ontario, for our second annual Trillium Running Festival on Sunday, October 29th, 2023. Last year, we hosted 100 runners and walkers for a great day and this year, we are looking to have even more shoes and even more smiles! This is a thank you to athletes, volunteers, race directors, meet directors, coaches, officials and all supporters of the Athletics Ontario community. This will be an inclusive, fun, non-competitive, and low-cost event!
In an effort to make strides towards a thriving and inclusive running community in Ontario, we have set out a 6-ish km course (it is a trail run after all!) and come join us for 1 loop, or see how many loops you can do in 2 hours or 4 hours. Run, jog, walk, or dance your way around the beautiful trails at Pinehurst Lake Conservation area!
Additional notes:
- This is not a chip-timed event, so bring your shoes and your smiles, and an event for all levels, abilities and ages.
- There will be prize raffles for all participants including free race entries and running swag.
- Course map can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GbqE4h0TVk4PyDXS_0BBr5tQvOhldbah/view?usp=drive_link
This is a not-for-profit event, with the proceeds going towards the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area. For almost 20 years, Pinehurst Lake played host to the Run for the Toad, a staple in the Ontario racing scene, led by race directors George and Peggy Sarson. We at Athletics Ontario aim to honour George and Peggy, along with key elements of the Run for the Toad course, with the Trillium Running Festival.
We could not do this without wonderful partners, including:
- Odyssey Medical
- Runners' Choice Waterloo will have a pop-up shop on race day where you can try on pairs of the Fresh Foam X 1080v13 from New Balance. Don't be shy, come say hi!
- RUNNING COUNT INC., who will be providing unique run bibs for all participants (all the better for our announcer to shout you out!!)
- HoldtheCarbs, whose mission is to make extremely LOW CARB, KETO products so you can enjoy your muffins, pancakes, pizzas, brownies, granolas and more in a healthy, guilt-free way any time of the day
- Promo Code for 25% all products to be shared following registration!
- ParkBus, a service that connects city dwellers with nature through accessible transportation options. If you have questions about using this service to get to the Trillium Running Festival, please email john.shep@rogers.com
- Moore Farm and Berries in Ayr, ON, a family farm that grows fresh fruit and vegetables and have been part of this community for over 100 years. They will be providing fresh fruit for our participants!
