My Story…
Why do I continue to volunteer and walk for NAMI Rockland? I know, from personal experience, the struggles that families impacted with mental illness face. Seeking help for my family and my son, now 69 years of age, originally brought me to NAMI Rockland.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the largest grassroots mental health agency in the U.S. Our vital local affiliate offers education, support, and advocacy and works to eradicate stigma. We help thousands of families through our Helpline and signature NAMI Programs for families of both adults and young people. Our unique Family Peer Advocacy program (in Spanish and English) provides an individualized approach to parents and caregivers of youth under age 23 with behavioral/mental health issues.. Thank you for joining me in the battle against mental illness.
