WHAT IS THE "TAKE IT IN STRIDES RUN"?
Join us on a journey to remember loved ones lost to suicide and raise awareness for suicide prevention.
This is a charitable event – participate by running 5 km or 10 km, or walking 3km OR participate virtually in any activity of your choosing in any location (town) to honour a loved one lost to suicide
This event is here to support those battling with mental illness by recognizing that their community is here to help.
It is also here to provide those who know someone battling, with the knowledge they need to provide help.
Prior to the in-person event, we will be hosting online workshops and training in order to educate people about suicide prevention.
Proceeds of Take It In Strides Run will be donated to Canadian Mental Health Association and Children’s Centre Foundation
Participants will be encouraged to offer encouragement, show strength, share stories and remember those that have been lost.
WHEN & WHERE IS IT?
This year’s run will take place Sunday September 10th
at Boulevard Lake, Thunder Bay or you can participate virtually from any location with any activity of your choosing to honour a loved one lost to suicide
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Register online for the first annual Take It In Strides Run 2023 either individually or as a team. see registration button (top right of this page)
- Help fundraise either online or using our printable donation form.
- Don't feel like running or walking? choose any activity to honour a loved one. That's ok, we also need volunteers! Register online to be one of our amazing volunteers on the day of the event.-see volunteer button (top right of this page)
- Volunteer hours available for high school students!
- Choose how; participate by running 5k, 10k, or walking 3k, – any movement that inspires you! you can also participate virtually from any location!
- Participate in our workshops to learn more about Suicide Prevention.
- Share a photo of a loved one lost to suicide to our online gallery. These will be used to create our memorial wall on the day of the event.
- Complete our in-person event and remember to snap a photo once you’ve finished!

Commemorate a loved one
If you’ve lost a loved one to suicide, submit their name and photo to https://www.takeitinstridesrun.com/shared-gallery by Friday, Sept. 8 so we can commemorate them at the event.
