NCCP Competition Development Coaching Seminar
This is the second level of coaching certification in weightlifting known as “Competition Development” (formerly National Coaching Certification Program Technical Level 2 & 3). This certification supports provincial, national, and international level coaching as well as advanced instruction in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. It is required for coaches who wish to support athletes at national and international events.
Pre-Requisite: Full certification as a Competition Introduction Coach. If you are unsure if you qualify to register for this course then please contact coaching@nsweightlifting.ca.
The course will be delivered by the CWFHC Master Coach Developers Dan Robitaille and Francois Gravel. Daniel Robitaille is a 5-time olympic weightlifting national champion (junior and senior). He was appointed national team coach at the World Championships and the Pan-American games (1981-1999) and sits as a Level 1 IWF Technical Official. He was also the personal coach of World Championship bronze medalist Julie Malenfant. Francios Gravelle was a member of the Canadian Weightlfting Federation's Coaching Committee and responsible for the development of NCCP coaching curriculum.
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for 65 different sports and is offered in both official languages across Canada. NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from the first-time coach to the head coach of a national team. The NCCP is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada.
Participants must be members of Weightlifting Nova Scotia in good standing.
