Climb for the Kids at Casa Connor
Our work is carried out at Casa Connor, a facility built in Mexico, largely by Canadians, as a legacy to Connor Vanderveen who had Hunter Syndrome. He was born and lived his short life in Calgary. Connor’s life legacy provides much needed hope for many, many children with special needs. As an additional tribute, in honour of Connor, the Calgary Tower will be lit up in the colour orange surrounding the event.
The orange lights will run November 17 from 2:55 am until sunrise (approximately 8 am), and again from sunset (approximately 4:45 pm) until 2:54 am Nov 18.
GOAL
For our first ever Climb event, our goal is to have more than 100 people climb the 802 stairs of the Calgary Tower in support of MCA who, in turn, will use the funds to support the children and youth with special needs who attend at Casa Connor in Mexico.
YOU CAN HELP!
Join the Climb for the Kids at Casa Connor! Sign up now and spread the word! Please invite friends, family or colleagues to join the climb! Step up for the children and youth who need our help and let’s do it together 🧡
WHY IS YOUR HELP NEEDED?
With no ongoing government funding, the children and their families struggle to survive. Imagine a single mother who lives on the breadline trying to take care of a little girl with Cerebral Palsy while also supporting three other children. Then imagine that this whole family lives in a single room constructed from corrugated iron and cardboard with no running water or electricity. MCA enables this family to survive.
The need for the the climb is greater than ever. Climbing the Calgary Tower is a unique and exhilarating opportunity to help the kids be the best they can be!
