My Story…
Time to cross the harbour for a fourth time. My generous supporters and I have helped raise over $2,400 for the United Way in my first three crossings. That averages out to $800 each time, so that's my goal this year.
Last year, I was joined by my daughter Kenzie, who raised an additional $350. Since she's enjoying the warmer waters of Australia this time around, I can't double up with her again. Therefore, I am doubling up on my crossings and will add the Chester Harbour swim to my usual slosh across Halifax Harbour.
The Chester swim is the evening of Sept. 6, while the Halifax swim starts at 11:30 the next morning. That means I should be hauling myself out of the water at Bishop's Landing a bit after the noon gun booms.
