It's time to break a stride and bust a sweat for student scholarships! Attendees are required to register in advance and encouraged to donate to support the student scholarship fund. We are calling all families, students, staff, faculty, and community members to walk, run, or roll with our mascot, Monte Rey through our beautiful campus.

Registration:
Monte's 5K is open to all members of the community and will raise money for student scholarships. All ages are welcome to participate (under 18 with a guardian). There is no age limit for participating. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Participants with strollers are welcome, however, strollers must be in the last leg of the race for safety. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at the race, with the exception of Service Animals.
**Update 10/11/23** Registration is currently FULL however additional registration spots will be available tomorrow during bib pick-up on Thursday, Oct. 12th from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Otter Student Union, Main Quad Plaza (during Otter Thursday)
Registration fees:
CSUMB Students: Free (with Student ID and promo code from MyRaft)
All other participants: $20 (Children under the age of 12 are free.)
$10 from every registration fee goes directly to a student scholarship fund.

Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If the event is canceled due to a force majeure event, there are no refunds.

We are committed to providing a fair and equitable experience for all participants. This includes ensuring all participants are registered and receive a bib and t-shirt. If you do not pick up your bib and t-shirt during bib pick-up or on race day, participants will forfeit their t-shirts, bibs, and medals. This ensures that all participants have a fair chance to receive these items and reduce waste.
Bib Pick Up
Bib pick-up will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12th from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Otter Student Union, Main Quad Plaza (during Otter Thursday), and on the morning of the race, Saturday, Oct. 14th from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. in front of the OSU.
**Please bring a Photo ID. All participants must sign an event waiver online in advance.**
Race Day
Please arrive early for the race. We recommend 30 to 60 minutes prior to the 9:00 a.m. start time. If you did not pick up your race bib on Thursday, October 12, please plan to arrive before 8:30am at the latest.
Volunteers:
Monte's 5K relies on student and staff volunteers to make the race possible. Volunteer opportunities are open to CSUMB students and staff. Duties may include packet pick-up, course set-up/tear-down, water stations, and bag check. Please use the volunteer registration form if you are interested in volunteering. Volunteers will be contacted and provided assignments.
Parking:
Parking is located in Lot 71 (see parking map). A parking permit is required at all times. The cost of a daily pass is $5 and can be paid on arrival at the yellow parking meter or online using this link: https://csumb.edu/parking/permits/. Permits must be printed out and clearly displayed at all times.
The course will be cleared by 11am. After 11am, participants will be asked to continue along sidewalks for the reopening of roadway traffic.
Driving Directions (day of event):
Enter campus from the NORTH using the Imjin Pkwy/Imjin Rd traffic signal or from the East using the Inter-Garrison Rd and Abrams Dr. intersection. Lot 71 is located on the corner of 6th Ave. and Inter-Garrison Rd. Please follow these directions as road closures in the race area will be in effect after 8 a.m.
Post Race Activities:
Bring your yoga mat and we will host a guided gentle, slow flow yoga at 9:30am and 10:15am in Building 12. Space is limited and based on room capacity. Directly following the event at 11am is MB Madness on the main quad which will include a carnival like activities, food from alumni owned businesses, music and entertainment for all.

CSU Monterey Bay's staff, faculty, students, and guests will not be held responsible or liable for the supervision of any minor participant/attendee during the event.
