2023 Perseverance Trail Run

Support the Cumberland Community Forest by running 12k or 3k on October 29, 2023!

POLICY UPDATES

Policies may be updated at any time without notice. If anything significant changes in the policies after you register, we will update you by email.


REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED for any reason whatsoever (emails will not be responded to). This event is a fundraiser for the Cumberland Community Forest Society. Please consider your entry a non-refundable donation and we are grateful for your generous contribution.

  1. No refunds, credits, deferrals, transfers - no exceptions.
  2. No refunds will be given in the event that the race is cancelled due to fire, floods or other acts of God.

SUPER IMPORTANT POLICIES

Safety is our top priority and these policies are in place to protect you, fellow racers and volunteers. Please respect that we have insurance coverage for registered participants only and these policies are strictly enforced. All of these policies are for safety reasons.

Breaking any of these policies will result in a ban from future Perseverance Trail Run Races:

  1. REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ONLY - Only registered in-person racers may be on the course during the race and if you are found racing the course without valid registration, you will be banned from future our events.
  2. SWAPPING - No swapping bibs. If you are caught breaking this rule you will be disqualified and banned from future our events.
  3. CANNOT COMPLETE / DNF - If you cannot complete the course for ANY reason, you MUST notify one of our Course Marshals or Finish Line crew. We don’t want to send Search And Rescue out to find you if you have gone home and are having a nap :) Just let us know, please. Thank you!


OTHER IMPORTANT POLICIES

  1. RUNNING - This is a running race, there are cut-off times (see below).
  2. DOGS/STROLLERS - No dogs or strollers permitted.
  3. POLES - No poles permitted, please.
  4. HEADPHONES - A single earbud only is permitted. You need to hear the people around you for safety.
  5. COURSE MAPS - Courses will be well marked, but you should familiarize yourself with the course in advance for safety and help you crush your race! Visit perseverancetrailrun.com for course maps.
  6. FIRST AID - Review the course maps for course marshals and first aid stations. Visit perseverancetrailrun.com for course maps.
  7. CHILDREN ON 3KM COURSE - Parents are fully responsible for their children's safety and should remain with them at all times.
  8. YOUTH ON 12KM COURSE - Children under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by a registered adult racer at all times, no exceptions. If you cannot keep up, please get another adult that can.
  9. 12KM CUT-OFF TIMES - This is a running course. You must reach M4 within 50 minutes of the start. It's approximate 5km / 150M elevation - see course map. You must run most of the route in order to make it. If you do not reach the cut-off by then, you will be asked to leave your race bib with the marshalls and directed back.
  10. BRIDGES - Walk all bridges! They are bouncy, slippery and not designed for hundreds of runners bouncing on them. They must be walked. Don't worry, they are short and will have little impact on your time!
  11. STAY ON TRAIL - You are a trail runner, be prepared to run through mud and puddles. Please do not take short-cuts and sidestep puddles as this damages the surrounding foliage.
  12. WATER/AID STATIONS - This race is self-supported. There are no aid stations or water available. Pack a water bottle, fuel and medication if needed.

RACE DIRECTOR

The Race Director has the final say in all matters and any issues that arise that are not outlined are to be resolved by the Race Director. The Race Director may need to make up a rule on the spot for any reason.
