The Second Annual Motion to Run is a 5k sponsored by Mississippi College School of Law, partnering with Mississippi College PA School, supporting the Barack Obama Magnet School in Jackson, MS. As a Christian university, MC Law aspires to embody the servant-minded service referenced in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Specifically, our aim is to support scholars and teachers of the Jackson Public Schools. Motion to Run serves as a fundraising event for our friends at Obama Magnet School to purchase new learning-enhancing technology for inside the classroom to ensure that students are reaching their utmost potential. Participants in the races will receive a complementary sponsorship t-shirt. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the 5K will receive awards and gift cards! Halloween costumes are encouraged but, not required, in the spirit of Halloween!

1-Mile Fun Run Closed
This 1-mile "fun run" is intended to be just that: a fun family outing for the community. In the spirit of Halloween, costumes are encouraged but not required. Additionally, dogs are more than welcome to be walked in the race along with baby strollers!

5k Course Description
The 5K will begin and end on the track around Robinson-Hale Stadium. The course takes runners around the beautiful campus of Mississippi College. This includes running on Capitol St., through the quad, past the Baptist Healthplex, and weaving and winding past academic and dormitory buildings. The route will conclude with a lap around the stadium!
1 Mile Fun Run Course Description
Participants will have the unique experience to walk/run around the track of Robinson-Hale Stadium! Remember, 4 laps equals a mile!
