CDR Harness Hound Dash

Bikejor | Scooter | Canicross

Club DogRunnin invites you to join us for our scooter, bikejor and canicross race in Victoria Park, Truro, NS!

Where: The Railyard Mountain Bike Park, Truro, NS (located in Victoria Park)

When: Sunday, November 12th, 2023

The following Regional Circuit race classes are being offered:

4km Standard:

1-Dog Scooter

1-Dog Bikejor

1-Dog Canicross

This route is a wide trail with rolling hills. You'll cover a mostly dirt road with some gravel and grass in a loop with lots of room for safe passing without meeting any teams head on. The trail is very obvious and the race course will be well marked.

*The trail is not a closed course, however members of the public will be advised to yield to the competitor. This trail is not generally busy, but it does have a number of mountain bike trail crossings.

Race Meeting
There will be no in-person race briefing. All important information such as start lists, course routes, etc. will be conveyed in advance via the Facebook Event or Race Roster. Start lists and course maps will also be posted on site.

**Deadline to register is Wednesday, November 8th, at 6pm.

Schedule (subject to change)

8:00am: Participant check-in/handing-over of bibs/equipment checks

9:00am: 3.7km 1-dog Bikejor Start

9:45am: 3.7km 1- dog Scooter Start

10:30am: 3.7km 1-dog Canicross Start

All participants are to be on site by 8:30am for registration and equipment checks.

Required Equipment:

Dogs: All dogs MUST be in a harness designed for running and pulling. Dogs must be at least 12 months of age to compete in these events.

Rules:

Because harness dog sports involve more than human athletes, our rules for participants incorporate more than the expected rules to ensure fair competition. These rules also address factors that can impact the health and safety of our canine and human teammates - things like the age of the dog for competition, sport-specific gear requirements for humans and dogs, trail rules (such as passing), and good sportsmanship.

All participants must review and adhere to the following documents prior to race day:

  • MAHDS Code of Conduct
