While driving for the Wheels of Hope Transportation Program I get to meet amazing people who are in their Cancer Journey . One of those people is John Medema (left in Photo). During our travel to and from the hospital I mentioned our Cycling Tour and John mentioned how he wanted to help. He is part of a great community and a friend Louis Bosma (right in Photo) also took up the challenge and has rode over 100 km as well as completed another ride of 200 km all the while getting donations. John and Louis raised over $3,100 to date. This is amazing and 100% of the money raised will go the Wheels of Hope Transportation Program.

Another announcement is Sierra Marchand has accepted the role of Co-Chair with myself on our committee. Sierra has been with us since 2017 and is an incredible person who has done amazing work to make the ride a success.
Even with the following information we encourage that riders do an independent individual, couples, groups to ride for those who are in treatments and need your help. A few people already have reached out that they are interested in doing this.
-Important Notice-
We have been fortunate since we started our event to have the coverage for insurance covered for us at no charge. We have always and will always have our event that 100% of the money raised by participants got to the Transportation Program. Our efforts to obtain coverage has not been successful without paying high rates that would take away from our goal. With municipalities, counties, cities and parks requiring insurance and also to cover our riders we require the coverage. We are sadly have to cancel the ride for 2023 and are looking to bring it back next year. We will be seeking local businesses to cover the costs of insurance for next year. We apologize for the cancelling of the event this year. We will be issue refunds to those who want them or we will carry them over to next year. We will be contacting registered participants by email to do the next steps. Thank you for supporting the Wheels of Hope Cycling Tour.
